6月8日(日)と9日（祝日・Queen’s Birthday）の連休の2日間、ワインの産地・マクラーレン・べールで、毎年恒例、今年で16回目を迎える「海とワインの祭り」 "Sea & Vines Festival" が開催される。
マクラーレン・ベールにある、23カ所のワイナリーで行われるこのフェスティバルは、ワインの産地が多い南オーストラリア州でも、人気が高いワイン祭りのひとつ。
名前の通り「シーフードとワイン」がテーマなので、海の幸が好きな我ら日本人には、はずせない！
この祭りは、ワイナリーごとに、併設レストランや、アデレードの有名レストランが出張してきて、シーフード料理を提供する。オーストラリア料理やイタリア料理、ギリシャ料理等と共に、シティーにある有名韓国レストラン「MAPO」が韓国料理を供するなど、ワイナリーごとに個性や、意外性があって楽しい。

気になる金額もワイングラス $5前後、オントレーサイズの料理も$10~ と、お手頃。
なんと言っても、ワイナリーの開放的な大地と青空の下、のんびりと音楽を聞きながら、オーストラリアらしい休日が過ごせる事間違いなし。
好きなワインやワイナリーを基準に選ぶもよし、食べたいシーフード料理で選ぶもよし、楽しみたい音楽で選ぶもよし。今年は、ワイン祭りに出かけよう！
